In the village of Heshangju, rooftop solar panels have become the new cash crop. Over 100 households have covered their homes in panels, generating enough electricity to power the entire village's streetlights and sell the surplus back to the grid. Interestingly, the article notes an unexpected bonus: to install the heavy equipment, energy companies had to pave wide, modern asphalt roads. These roads are now allowing local farmers to get their produce to city markets much faster than before.
