Mexico and The Cuba Oil Dilemma.

Mexico is internally reviewing its long-standing policy of sending oil to Cuba due to fears of retaliation. With Venezuela's oil shipments to the island halted, Mexico has become Cuba's primary lifeline. However, a retaliation of a "zero oil or money to Cuba" stance has signaled across borders. Mexican officials worry that continuing these shipments could derail the upcoming USMCA trade pact review or trigger new tariffs. Publicly, Sheinbaum maintains that the oil shipments are international aid and a sovereign right, but internal anxiety is reportedly growing within her cabinet.
