Women In Politics Released By Un Women.

A new report released by UN Women, during the 70th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women, reveals a complex picture of global leadership. Currently, only 28 countries are led by a woman as Head of State or Government. While parliamentary seats held by women rose, the number of women serving as Cabinet Ministers actually dropped; the first recorded reversal in several years. The report highlighted that 76% of female parliamentarians globally report experiencing public intimidation, a factor cited as the primary barrier to achieving gender parity in leadership.
