The Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games are reaching their finale in Italy this weekend, with a historic victory for the Canadian team. Canada defeated China 4–3 in a tense, defensive wheelchair curling final to take the Gold medal. This win marks Canada's first gold in the sport in 12 years. Skip Mark Ideson secured the victory on the final shot, while teammate Ina Forrest became the most decorated wheelchair curler in history with her fifth Paralympic medal. Earlier today, alpine skier Michaela Gosselin won bronze, marking Canada’s 200th all-time medal in the Paralympic Winter Games.
