Four-Day Workweek Implemented to Counter Fuel Crisis.

In response to soaring global oil prices and localized energy shortages, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has authorized a four-day workweek for executive government offices starting this week. The shift aims to reduce electricity consumption in government buildings and lower the fuel expenses of commuting employees. While many administrative agencies are adopting the 4x10 schedule (four 10-hour days), the Department of Education has clarified that public schools will maintain their current schedules to avoid disrupting the academic calendar.
