Trillion Peso March Protests Corruption in Flood Control.
Thousands of citizens and civil society groups recently gathered for the third installment of the Trillion Peso March, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the People Power Revolution. Protesters are demanding transparency regarding nearly ₱1.9 trillion spent on flood control projects over the last 15 years, much of which they allege was lost to corruption or ghost projects. The movement has gained significant traction in areas like Central Luzon and Metro Manila, where residents continue to face severe seasonal flooding despite the massive budget allocations.
