Takaichi-Trump Summit.
Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi met with President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday to cement a massive new economic and security partnership. The two leaders unveiled three joint projects worth $73 billion, including a groundbreaking plan to build small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs) in Alabama and Tennessee. While Japan committed to helping secure the Strait of Hormuz amid the ongoing Iran crisis, Takaichi reportedly set firm "legal limits" based on Japan’s pacifist constitution regarding the deployment of the Self-Defense Forces.
