Parenthood Financially Accesible.

In a major bid to reverse its decade-long decline in births, the Japanese Cabinet approved a landmark policy, to cover the full cost of child delivery through public health insurance. Previously, standard births were not covered by national insurance, often leaving families with out-of-pocket costs despite government subsidies. The new system sets a universal national fee for delivery, aiming to eliminate these barriers. The move comes as preliminary data for showed births falling to a record low. While Tokyo saw a slight rebound, the government is moving toward aggressive support to make parenthood financially accessible for the younger generation.
