Kona Low Storm Shatters Rainfall Records.

A powerful and slow-moving Kona low storm has devastated parts of the islands this week, dropping a staggering 46 inches of rain in some areas of Maui. The storm caused widespread flash flooding, landslides, and major infrastructure damage, including collapsed roads near Wailea. Both Honolulu and Kahului recorded their rainiest 24-hour periods in history on March 13. While the first wave is subsiding, residents are bracing for a second storm system expected to arrive this Thursday.
