Kenya Faces Double Disaster Of Floods.

Kenya is currently grappling with a severe humanitarian crisis as relentless heavy rains and flash floods devastate the country, following years of historic drought. At least 88 lives have been lost and over 70,000 people have been displaced. Entire villages and vital croplands—particularly in agricultural hubs like Kisumu—have been submerged. Aid agencies like CARE are sounding the alarm over a rapidly escalating risk of cholera outbreaks due to the contamination of water sources and the destruction of sanitation infrastructure. Over 3.3 million people in Kenya are already facing acute food insecurity, a number projected to rise as the long rains continue through June.
