Xi Jinping Inspects City of the Future.

President Xi Jinping conducted his fourth official inspection of the Xiong’an New Area this week, a massive urban project about 100 kilometers southwest of Beijing. Dubbed the city of the future, Xiong’an is designed to relieve Beijing of non-capital functions. Official data released during the visit shows the developed area now spans 215 square kilometers with over 5,300 buildings and a population of 1.41 million residents. The city is being positioned as a global hub for high-tech enterprises and green urban living.
