In mid-February 2026, state media (Xinhua) confirmed the successful grid connection of a 20-megawatt offshore wind turbine. To give you a sense of scale, the structure is roughly equivalent to a 58-story building. This turbine is currently the world’s most powerful, designed to withstand extreme typhoons while generating enough electricity to power tens of thousands of homes annually. It was developed entirely with indigenous technology, a point of significant national pride.
