Tiangong Space Station Long-Duration Missions and Lunar Prep.
The China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) recently provided updates on the Tiangong Space Station, which has transitioned into a phase of permanent, long-term scientific application. The current crew aboard the station has been conducting advanced brain science experiments and medical tests using Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) diagnostic devices modified for microgravity. In February 2026, the CMSA confirmed that the station is being used as a critical testbed for technologies required for the planned 2030 crewed lunar landing, including the development of the Long March-10 rocket and the Mengzhou spacecraft. For the first time, payload experts from Hong Kong and Macao have been integrated into the selection for future missions, reflecting a push for broader national participation in the space program.
