China’s space sector is dominating technology news today with two major reveals. State media released concept footage of the Luanniao, a massive Star Wars-style space aircraft carrier designed to deploy unmanned fighter jets from the edge of the atmosphere. While experts view it as a long-term vision (20–30 years out), it signals China's massive defense ambitions. Private firms like GuoXing Aerospace are now successfully deploying Large Language Models (LLMs) on satellites. This Space Cloud initiative allows data processing to happen directly in orbit, bypassing the need to send massive amounts of raw data back to Earth-based stations.
