Nigeria Becomes Top "Belt and Road" Beneficiary.
New reports released today confirm that Nigeria has emerged as the largest single beneficiary of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) over the past year. This follows a massive $24.6 billion commitment to the Ogidigben Gas Revolution Industrial Park (GRIP). This project is intended to transform Nigeria’s natural gas reserves into high-value products like fertilizers and petrochemicals, signaling a shift in Chinese investment toward large-scale energy industrialization in Africa. Total Chinese BRI engagement in Africa tripled in 2025, reaching over $61 billion, as firms pivot toward emerging markets and green energy infrastructure.
