Tensions between Tokyo and Beijing have reached a new high following comments by PM Takaichi regarding potential military intervention in Taiwan. In response, China has issued a fresh travel warning ahead of the Lunar New Year, urging its citizens to avoid Japan due to a deteriorating security environment. Symbolizing this rift, Japan's last two giant pandas, twins Xiao Xiao and Lei Lei, are being returned to China this month, leaving Japan without any pandas for the first time in 50 years.
