Defense Executive Sentenced to Death.

In a high-profile crackdown on the military-industrial complex, Tan Ruisong, the former chairman of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), has been handed a suspended death sentence for exceptional corruption. Tan confessed to accepting approximately $89 million (USD) in bribes and engaging in insider trading during his tenure at the state-owned aerospace giant. This sentencing is seen as a major signal in President Xi’s ongoing campaign to purge corruption from critical national security sectors.
