Uber Restricted At Mexican International Aiport.

President Claudia Sheinbaum addressed the restrictions on ride-hailing apps like Uber at the Mexico City International Airport, explaining that the conflict stems from an imbalance in operating costs. Unlike platform drivers, authorized airport taxis pay specific concession fees and rights to operate within the terminal zones. To resolve this, the government is proposing a compromise that involves designating specific pickup points for apps outside the main taxi areas and urging concessionaries to moderate their high fares. While Uber has obtained a judicial suspension to prevent arbitrary arrests of its drivers, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transport maintains that these platforms still lack formal authorization to operate freely within federal airport perimeters.
