Mexico Water Forum Begins Drought FootPrint.

After several years of grueling water scarcity, Mexico has begun with its smallest drought footprint in six years. Following a very active rainy and tropical cyclone season, the national water outlook has significantly improved. The Cutzamala System, which provides roughly a quarter of Mexico City’s water, reached a massive jump from the critical lows seen the previous year. Despite the relief, the government hosted the Mexico Water Forum in February. The summit focused on long-term sustainability, emphasizing rainwater harvesting and wastewater recycling to prevent a return to the Day Zero scares of previous summers.
