Housing Improvement Program.
The Programa de Mejoramiento de Vivienda (Housing Improvement Program) provides a one-time grant of 40,000 pesos to help families repair, improve, or expand their homes. In 2025, the program is specifically targeting 10 municipalities in the Eastern Zone of the State of Mexico (such as Ecatepec, Chimalhuacán, and Nezahualcóyotl), which is the most populated urban area in the country. The funds are delivered directly via a Banco del Bienestar card, allowing families to decide exactly what their home needs whether it's fixing a roof, adding a room, or improving plumbing—while also receiving free technical construction advice from the government.
