Mexico’s Sovereign Right to Send Oil to Cuba.

The President of the Senate, Laura Itzel Castillo, defended Mexico's right to sell or donate oil to Cuba, asserting that such decisions are an exercise of national sovereignty and self-determination. Addressing recent controversy over the shipments, Castillo noted that Mexico has maintained this energy relationship with the island for nearly 60 years across various political administrations, while clarifying that the future of these flows remains at the discretion of President Claudia Sheinbaum.
