1,400-Year-Old Zapotec Tomb Uncovered.
Archaeologists from the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) recently unveiled a remarkably preserved Zapotec tomb in the Etla Valley of Oaxaca. Dated to around 600 CE, the tomb features intricate murals and a massive stone carving of an owl, a symbol of the underworld. It is being hailed as the most significant find in ten years because of its pristine condition. The discovery offers new insights into the Cloud People and their complex funeral rituals, with unique architectural features like a stepped vault that hasn't been seen in other regional tombs.
