Switzerland Extends Trade Talks with the U.S.

Switzerland’s president, Guy Parmelin, has confirmed that ongoing trade negotiations with the United States will continue into April, after missing an original March deadline. The discussions focus on reducing high U.S. tariffs on Swiss goods — historically among the highest in Europe — and resolving new tariff investigations by the U.S. government. Swiss officials say extending the talks is crucial to maintaining strong economic ties and supporting exporters who have faced uncertainty due to shifting international trade policies.
