Record-Breaking Innovation.
Switzerland has once again retained its title as the world leader in patents per capita. Official data released this week shows that the country registered nearly 10,000 patents over the last year. The surge in applications was driven primarily by medical technology, digital communications, and green-tech energy solutions. While major firms like Roche and Nestlé remain top contributors, there was a noted 15% increase in filings from university-born startups, particularly from ETH Zurich and EPFL Lausanne.
