Neutrality To Block Military Overflights.
Amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the Swiss government officially rejected two military requests to fly over its territory this week. Citing its strict law of neutrality, Bern stated that it cannot permit flights that serve a direct military purpose for parties involved in the conflict. However, it did approve three other requests for humanitarian and maintenance purposes, emphasizing that Switzerland's role remains focused on its status as a protecting power and a mediator for diplomatic communication between two countiries.
