Arms Export Freeze To The U.S.

Citing its strict policy of neutrality, the Swiss government formally suspended all new licenses for arms exports to the United States on March 20, 2026. This decision follows the escalation of international conflict in the Middle East. While existing licenses remain under review, Bern stated that exports to any country involved in "international armed conflict" cannot currently be authorized, a move that has sparked debate regarding the impact on Switzerland's domestic defense industry.
