Right to Repair Tax Credit Expansion.
Sweden has reached a landmark 2026 milestone in its circular economy goals by expanding its Reparationsavdrag (Repair Deduction) to include all consumer electronics and household appliances. Citizens now receive a 75% tax credit on the labor costs for any repair, from cracked smartphone screens to failing washing machine motors. This policy has led to a massive resurgence in local Repair Cafes and neighborhood micro-workshops, significantly reducing the country's electronic waste output and creating thousands of skilled technical jobs that cannot be automated.
