Revived Healthcare Reform.

The Health Ministry recently announced a plan to increase medical student quotas by 16% in 2027, aiming to reach 3,871 students by 2030. This move follows the massive healthcare crisis of 2024–2025, during which thousands of trainee doctors walked out in protest of similar increases under the previous administration. Current President Lee Jae Myung is pushing the policy to strengthen regional and essential healthcare, though the Korean Medical Association has already labeled the move irresponsible.
