Happy Reversal In Birthrate Crisis.

South Korea's fertility rate has risen for the second consecutive year. Data released by the Ministry of Data and Statistics shows the rate climbed to 0.80, up from the record low of 0.72 just two years ago. Experts attribute this baby bump to the echo boomer effect—a large cohort born in the early 90s (now in their early 30s) who are starting families after delaying during the pandemic. While still well below the replacement level of 2.1, it’s the strongest sign yet that aggressive government incentives might finally be gaining traction.
