Chip Industry Warns Of Helium And Supply Shortages.

South Korean lawmakers and tech executives held an emergency briefing today to address potential threats to the nation's semiconductor sector. Officials warned that a prolonged conflict in the Middle East could choke off the supply of helium, a gas essential for heat management in chip fabrication that currently has no viable alternative. While SK Hynix stated it has secured sufficient inventory for the near term, there are broader concerns that rising electricity costs—driven by oil price hikes—will undermine the global price competitiveness of South Korean memory chips.
