VP Sara Duterte’s Impeachment Case Advances.

The House Justice Committee voted overwhelmingly today to move forward with the impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte. The committee ruled that two new complaints are "sufficient in substance." These involve allegations of graft and corruption, as well as accusations regarding a death threat made against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. The Vice President now has 10 days to formally respond to the allegations before the House begins hearings to determine if there is probable cause to send the case to a Senate trial. If convicted by the Senate, she would be permanently banned from holding public office.
