Transport Strike Paralyses Cities.

Major transport groups, including MANIBELA and PISTON, launched a two-day nationwide strike today to protest the sharp rise in fuel prices and the government's modernization program. The strike has led to significant disruptions in Metro Manila and other major hubs, forcing several local government units and universities to shift to online classes and modular learning. In response, the government has begun distributing fuel subsidies to public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and is considering a suspension of fuel excise taxes by mid-April.
