Museum Launches Major Archaeological Survey.
A team from the National Museum of the Philippines has begun a extensive archaeological survey across several towns in Northern Samar, including Lavezares, Palapag, and Laoang. The project aims to identify remnants of early structures and artifacts that define the province’s historical identity as a critical maritime hub. Researchers are specifically investigating sites like Tabok Hill and Barangay Bani, where pre-Hispanic artifacts were previously found. The survey is expected to uncover further evidence of the region’s role in ancient trade routes and provide deeper insight into the cultural heritage of the Visayas.
