Alabat Island Breakthrough Has Been Installed.
The Philippines has officially installed its largest international wind turbine on Alabat Island, signaling a shift toward high-capacity green energy. The newly installed turbine features a large rotor diameter and is equipped with specialized typhoon-resistant technology designed to withstand the archipelago's severe weather patterns. To ensure grid stability, the Department of Energy now requires all new renewable projects to include integrated battery storage. With these reforms, the Philippines currently leads Southeast Asia in committed renewable projects, aiming for a renewable share in the power mix by 2030.
