TSMC’s 3-Nanometer Breakthrough.

In a move that signals a massive return to form for Japanese electronics, TSMC CEO C.C. Wei met with Prime Minister Takaichi today to finalize plans for a second factory in Kumamoto. TSMC will now mass-produce its most advanced 3-nanometer chips in Japan a significant upgrade from previous plans for older tech. This $17 billion investment is being hailed as the cornerstone of Japan’s Silicon Island strategy, aimed at securing the hardware needed for the global AI boom and reducing reliance on foreign supply chains.
