Leadership Shakeup at Toyota.
In a surprise announcement today, Toyota Motor Corporation unveiled a major executive restructuring. Koji Sato, the current President, will step into a new, broader role as Chief Industry Officer (CIO) and Vice Chairman, effective April 1. Kenta Kon, previously an Operating Officer, will take over as the new President and CEO. This shift is designed to allow Sato to lead wider industry collaboration—specifically through his role as Chairman of the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA)—while Kon manages Toyota’s internal transition toward becoming a full mobility company.
