Great Underwater Postbox of Susami.

While most travelers send postcards from the airport, the truly adventurous head to the coast of Wakayama to use the world’s deepest underwater postbox. Situated 10 meters beneath the surface of the Pacific Ocean, this red cast-iron mailbox is fully functional. Local divers and licensed tourists can purchase special water-resistant postcards and dive down to make a delivery. A local shopkeeper dons scuba gear daily to collect the mail, which is then processed through the standard Japanese postal system and sent globally. It holds a Guinness World Record and serves as a quirky testament to the country's dedication to service even under high-pressure conditions.
