Bill To Supercharge Strategic Tech R&D.

The Japanese government approved a landmark bill this week to amend the Industrial Competitiveness Enhancement Act, aimed at securing Japan's lead in priority industrial technologies. The framework specifically targets AI, quantum computing, and semiconductors, offering companies up to 50% R&D tax credits for joint research with accredited universities. Complementing this, Fujitsu announced today the successful development of the world’s first 1-megapixel dual-band infrared sensor, a breakthrough designed to enhance Japan's autonomous defense and disaster-monitoring capabilities.
