Wage Hike And EU Funding Green Light.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced a new increase in the national minimum wage, raising it to €920 per month starting April 1, 2026. This marks a 40-euro monthly increase and the sixth consecutive hike since 2019, aimed at combating persistent inflation (currently at 3.1%). Simultaneously, the European Commission has given the green light for a €1.18 billion disbursement from the EU Recovery Fund. These funds are earmarked for 26 specific milestones, including the creation of Greece’s first carbon dioxide storage facility and the total digitalization of driver’s license services to cut through traditional bureaucracy.
