Landmark Ruling On Same-Sex Adoption.

Just days before the national holiday, the Council of State (Greece’s highest administrative court) ruled that the right of married same-sex couples to adopt a minor is fully constitutional. The court found that such recognition does not violate constitutional protections of childhood and is, in fact, in the paramount best interests of the child. This marks a major final step in the social reforms that began with the legalization of same-sex marriage in early 2024.
