Republic Of Congo Presidential Underway.
The African Union Election Observation Mission has arrived in Brazzaville to monitor today’s presidential election in the Republic of Congo. Led by former Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo, the mission consists of 34 observers from 20 African countries, including members of the Pan-African Parliament and civil society. The team will assess the conduct of the polls based on the African Charter on Democracy. A preliminary statement on the fairness and transparency of the election is expected to be released on March 17.
