Zhurong-2 Rover Prepares for New Mars Landing.

The China National Space Administration (CNSA) confirmed today that the Zhurong-2 mission is on track for its scheduled descent to the Martian surface later this year. Building on the success of the first Zhurong rover, this new model is equipped with advanced ground-penetrating radar to search for deep-subsurface ice in the Utopia Planitia region. This announcement comes as part of China's broader 2026 space roadmap, which includes preparations for a permanent lunar base in collaboration with international partners.
