Taipingling-1 Grid Connection.

On the tech and infrastructure front, China’s Taipingling-1 Nuclear Power Plant in Guangdong was successfully connected to the grid on February 13, 2026. This 1,116-MW unit uses the Hualong One (HPR1000) design, a domestically developed third-generation reactor. It is a key part of China's massive energy strategy, which aims for 200 GW of nuclear capacity by 2035 to meet carbon neutrality goals.
