As China enters the Year of the Horse (beginning February 17, 2026), officials are banking on an extended nine-day holiday to jumpstart domestic spending. The government expects a record 9.5 billion passenger trips during the 40-day Spring Festival period. To encourage consumption, the central government has issued over 360 million yuan in consumer vouchers to help shift the economy away from its heavy reliance on exports.
