Beijing Halts Nvidia H200 Purchases.
Despite NVIDIA’s readiness to supply its high-demand H200 chips to China following shifts in U.S. export policy, Beijing has reportedly instructed domestic tech firms to pause purchases. This strategic move aims to curb reliance on American hardware and encourage the adoption of domestic alternatives, such as Huawei’s Ascend chips, as China pushes for technological self-sufficiency. While NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang remains optimistic about high demand and supply chain readiness, the actual flow of chips remains caught between pending U.S. export licenses and the Chinese government's efforts to control its internal AI infrastructure.
