Peru Breaks From Diplomatic Relations

Peru has broken off relations with Mexico after an ex-prime minister fled to Mexico to seek asylum. The ex-prime minister is facing criminal charges for an alleged role to dissolve Congress, take down a heavy person inside the government of Peru. Dissolvement. Chaves, former prime minister, is being charged with a 25-year sentence. Arrested since 2023, Chaves was released and fled to up-north Mexico. In the meantime, Peru has plugged the plug with Mexican diplomatic relations.
