New American Visas To Mexico.

As the 2026 travel season begins, Mexican citizens planning to visit, study, or work in the United States are facing a significantly more expensive landscape. Recent legislative changes and annual adjustments have pushed the cost of a standard tourist visa to nearly double its previous price, creating a new financial hurdle for thousands of families.

The New Cost Structure

While the base application fee (MRV) has remained stable at $185 USD for tourist and business visas (B1/B2), a new mandatory charge—the Visa Integrity Fee—has officially taken effect. This fee, introduced via the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" in late 2025, adds a minimum of $250 USD to most non-immigrant visa issuances.

For a typical applicant in Mexico, the breakdown now looks like this:

  • Base Application Fee (B1/B2): $185 USD (~$3,328 MXN)

  • Visa Integrity Fee: $250 USD (~$4,497 MXN)

  • Total Per Person: $435 USD (~$7,825 MXN)
