Migrant March In Southern Mexico.
A group of approximately 500 migrants departed from Tapachula, Chiapas, on Wednesday, marching toward central Mexico. The group is protesting long administrative delays in processing their legal status, which they claim leaves them prisoners in the south without the ability to work. This comes as the Mexican government announced a new agreement to boost labor inclusion for transit populations in states like Quintana Roo and Campeche, though civil society groups warn that migrants are being extorted for paperwork that should be free.
