Mexico Raises Minimum Wage.

As of January 1, 2026, Mexico has implemented a significant increase to the minimum wage, as officially published in the Diario Oficial de la Federación (DOF). Following a consensus by the National Minimum Wage Commission (CONASAMI), the general minimum wage for most of the country rose to $315.04 MXN daily (a 13% increase), while the Northern Border Free Zone rate reached $440.87 MXN daily (a 5% increase). This adjustment, which pushes the average monthly salary above $9,450 MXN, was calculated using a specialized formula that combines a fixed Monto Independiente de Recuperación (MIR) of $17.01 MXN with a percentage-based adjustment to strengthen purchasing power without triggering inflationary pressures.
