Mexico Challenges United Kingdom Over Asylum Case.

President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that her government is sending a formal letter of complaint to the United Kingdom. The dispute centers on the UK's decision to grant asylum to Karime Macías, the ex-wife of a former Veracruz governor. Macías is wanted in Mexico for the alleged misappropriation of approximately £4.8 million (about 110 million pesos) in public funds. Sheinbaum questioned how someone accused of high-level corruption and fraud could be granted protected status.
